A course designed for preschool students (4-6yrs) + one nominated parent, that provides a comprehensive approach to musical learning, using the piano over, a two year period.

Course Description: Music for Little Mozarts, the premier piano education program for children ages 4 – 6, provides a balance between the discipline necessary for playing the piano and the enjoyment one receives from the process of music making. The course centres on the adventures of Beethoven Bear and Mozart Mouse as they learn about music. Students begin at pre-reading stage and, following the story of the main characters, progress to note reading, including sharps and flats. Students may choose to complete this course before moving onto one of our more advanced courses, or they may switch at various stages throughout the course to either the Beginner Prep Course or our 6yr+ Beginner 1B course (the 2nd level in our Beginner piano course). If we feel the student requires more rapid learning we will make this suggestion. While this course is designed to progress a little slower for the young ones, by the end they will be reading music on the grand stave in two clefs!
Parent Participation: A nominated parent is required to attend, and encouraged to participate during class every week; a great opportunity to support your child’s learning whilst learning a new skill yourself. Parents will receive clear directions on how to assist with at-home practice.
Class size: 4-6 students per class with a keyboard for each student. Children are grouped according to grade level where possible: Kindergarten/First Graders.
Class length: Classes meet one time each week for 45 minutes.
Calendar: The schedule follows the SA public school/holiday schedule. Occasionally, there are variances in start/end week. When you enrol, you will be able to view of all your class days in our student portal.
Tuition plans: This is a 2-year course if completed in full. The School year runs for two 18-week semesters, with one weekend recital at the end of each semester. Semester fees are based on a total of 19 sessions per semester (38 sessions per school year). A material fee is charged separately, or you can purchase your own. Tuition can be paid by cash, bank transfer, credit card, or PayPal. Annual/semester payments & group bookings receive discounts on tuition fee per the MFLM brochure.

Further Course Policy Information
School Procedures: Please remain with your child in the waiting area until the previous class has been dismissed. Children may use crayons and coloured pencils on the activity table while they are waiting.
Please ask them to put their art supplies back in the baskets before leaving. For safety reasons, siblings who are not enrolled may not be left unattended in the waiting area or outside the studio.
Classroom procedures: To prevent disruption, only enrolled students and their parents are allowed in the classroom during the lesson. The teacher will handle all classroom discipline so that parents can remain in the role of learning partner (unless requested otherwise by the parent).
Attendance: Consistent attendance is a key to musical success. If your child will be absent, please notify us via the student portal as soon as possible, noting we are unable to answer our phone during teaching time. If you leave your email address, the teacher will e-mail the assignment. Tuition is not reduced for missed classes, however if at least 24 hours’ notice of absence has been provided we will always endeavour to arrange for your child to participate with another class at similar level, subject to open slots being available in that group. If the instructor must cancel a class, the lesson will be made up where possible, or if not possible a credit of that lesson portion will be applied to your account.
Enrolment Commitment: When a student enrols, the financial commitment is for a minimum of one semester. Class time changes or regrouping are implemented at the start of the new semester only when needed. Most students retain their class time for the entire school year.
Summer classes: If running a summer course or music camp, registration for those sessions will begin 2-3 months prior. Currently enrolled families will have first choice of preferred class slots. New student enrolment will open 2-3 weeks after current students
All of our teachers are experienced with a minimum Bachelors Degree and hold current working with children checks. We want you to feel comfortable in your choice to enrol, that's why we invite you to attend one of our open days which we offer from time-to-time.
